Cnectd
Cnectd has launched a free beta version of their cross-platform messaging and social networking application for BlackBerry smartphones. With cnectd you can message friends who use other smartphone platforms (like Android, iPhone or Symbian) as if you were using BlackBerry Messenger.
* IT’S COMPLETELY FREE. For a limited period only you will be able to download cnectd for free. Use cnectd as much as you like without any limitations.
* SEND IMAGES. Allows you send photo’s to any of your contacts
* WORKS WORLDWIDE. It makes no difference what country your contacts reside in. Cnectd works across the globe.
* BETTER THAN IM. No more logging in and out. You are always logged in and will always get your messages. You are always cnectd!
* UPLOAD YOUR OWN PROFILE PIC & UPDATE STATUS. Manage your own personal profile. You can edit your status to alert people if you available or not.
* GROUP CHAT. Cnectd has the unique offering of being able to create and manage your own groups and have group chats.
* SHARE YOUR LOCATION. Send contacts your location on a map so you are easily locatable.
Cnectd appears to be available for all BlackBerry devices. If you want to take part in the free beta you can download the app by going to cnectd.getjar.com from your BlackBerry Browser or the desktop GetJar page for more info. According to the page, you should “get it now while it’s still free” so there will probably be a price once it’s out of beta. You can submit feedback at the GetJar page or at cnectd’s blog post.
If you try it out with a friend on another smartphone platform be sure to let me know how it worked for you in the comments!
