Rio Tinto Stadium

Paul McCartney announced Monday that he is adding two performances to his 2010 "Up and Coming" tour: San Francisco and Salt Lake City. The legendary musician will be performing at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy this summer.

"The July 13th concert date in the stunning Rio Tinto Stadium setting will be Paul's first-ever performance in the great state of Utah," according to a news release on his website. "Keeping with his headline-making special concerts over the last few years, the tour will see the iconic star and his band play unique venues, places and locations; new cities he's never played and familiar markets he's not visited for a while."

Bill Manning, president of Rio Tinto Stadium, told KSL news that Utah residents should take advantage of this "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," and that McCartney will likely never be back. "He's never played here before, so not even just for a generation but for multiple generations," Manning said.

McCartney, 67, kicked off his 2010 "Up and Coming" tour in Phoenix in March. He has also played venues in Los Angeles, Miami, and Puerto Rico.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, May 24 at 10:00 a.m. Fans can purchase tickets at RioTintoStadium.com or by calling (888) 477-5849. Prices will range from $49.50 to $250.00.

American Express cardholders will have an early opportunity to buy tickets, beginning May 20 at 10 a.m. through Sunday, May 23 at 10:00 p.m.
